The instructions to find the key were terrible! it says get them from a key safe padlocked to the front railings at the front of the house and they were at the back, attached to the house. "This was ideal for me. I loved it here. It was really peaceful. I couldn't hear a thing apart from the birds and the occasional sheep. I stayed for 4 days and I wished it could have been longer. There is no TV in the hut which also suits me to the ground. The wi-fi is excellent so if you do want to watch something on an I pad or tablet you will have no problem with the reception. There was a nice touch with tea making facilities and scones provided for the 4 days that I was there. I cannot...

"We have stayed before an absolute love the location and the onsite facilities. The only issue this year was the location of our bedroom was opposite the loading bay of the main site so we were regularly woken early due to deliveries. We would definitely stay again but request not to be in the same cottage."

"The whole place is spotless and really well run by kind and helpful staff who were very attentive the whole time. Being in an old building, the amenities were not the best, the room had a very sloped floor, which made me feel a little seasick! And the bed tilted because of this, I had to prop something under my mattress so that I didn’t roll out of bed in the night! I had a lovely bath but equally due to the slope it felt like the water would tip out if too full! My room was right next to the lift so I could hear that lots of times but it wasn’t too disturbing in the night with the sound of the fan which I switched on in the room. The dinner was absolutely delicious, I was really impressed, and 10% off for guests staying . Breakfast was not so good, the cooked breakfast was not very appealing (lumpy scrambled eggs, dry hard bacon) and the buffet breast options were very limited, but it didn’t dampen my stay too much. The staff were really so lovely. All in all, it is a lovely hotel and I’d probably return but might request a room that doesn’t slope/isn’t right next to the lift!!"

"This is real gem, hidden away in the Devon countryside, at the end of long private driveway - with rather too many deep potholes, a danger to your car's tyres and suspension. Once you're there you get get a warm welcome - all of the staff couldn't have been more helpful. The rooms are quite spacious. and the beds are very comfortable. Dining is a speciality, and though the portions may seem small to some, they are beautifully prepared and presented, preceded by tempting amuse-bouches served while you wait. The whole ambience is a delight, with quiet music playing in the background. Breakfast was the opposite - much too loud music (why ?), and not the standard of cooking that we had experienced the nights before, though the staff were just as attentive in every way. Then there is the bonus of the superb pool, jacuzzi and gym - available to all guests from 8.00 am to 8.00 pm. It was a delight to have a prebreakfast session there, all on our own. At the moment, a new accommodation block is being built, to embrace the wonderful views (also the same views from the spa), so please expect some noise of building work - through it's well near completion (July 2026). A lovely place to stay - highly recommended."
