"without a doubt, this one of the nicest places that my wife and i have stayed, a hidden gem in the beautiful hills of Tuscany! the location is spotless and offers several pools and quiet areas to relax. the staff was amazing, Laura and Michael tended to everything making the stay remarkable. we had to catch a super early flight and Laura worked tirelessly to find us a private taxi to get to the airport by 5:00 am. the food was beyond explanation; best spaghetti that we have ever had, breakfast was a spread of the best meats and cheeses, etc. and home reminders including eggs and bread items. highly recommend this wonderful location if you are traveling to Tuscany, we will be returning in the future."

"Merveilleux séjour dans un endroit fabuleux, le personnel est gentil, la chambre était impeccable. Nous avons mangé sur les lieux et pris le 4 services tous les soirs. Une belle découverte de la cuisine Toscane. La Poderi est très bien située pour visiter les villages. Je recommande à 100 % pour un séjour de visite de cette belle région."

"Beautiful 14th century villa in the Tuscan hills with very pretty pool and restaurant areas, and very helpful and friendly staff. The food was hearty and enjoyable, but not the highest standard, even compared to restaurants in the area. It's in a great location for exploring Florence, Chianti region and Siena. The room we used (superior garden view) was good, very interesting features due to the age of the property, with a stunning view. However, it was not very cosy for spending time in and the A/C struggled as well. Overall we were very happy with our choice and had a great stay!"

Hotel Palazzo San Lorenzo & SPA

"I can’t fault the hotel in general, but honestly, it felt a bit soulless. We stayed at the sister hotel Relais Della Rovere earlier in the week and loved it. It felt warm, authentic and welcoming. The bar was by reception and constantly had people in it and all areas of the hotel were charming, whereas the Palazzo San Lorenzo, while impressive looking, lacked character inside despite being an old palace and in an area of architectural beauty/interest. As you are up the top of the old town, although there are some nice restaurants, they all keep strange opening hours/ days and on a Monday there is nowhere in walking distance to get lunch and limited options for dinner on a Sunday. That would have been fine if the hotel had food options, but they only do breakfast (which is very nice ) and then dinner for two hours in the evening. We were expecting Caffe San Lorenzo to do food, but we never saw it open and apparently they don’t do food despite it stating they do on the website. Maybe it’s off season for them, but the website doesn’t give opening times or say what days the restaurant/ caffe Lorenzo are closed. You get two small bottles of water in the fridge in the room daily, but there is nowhere to get any other bottled drinks throughout the day or around the pool unless you drive down to the main town to a supermarket. Whilst a decent hotel, we wanted somewhere to relax and not have to venture far to eat and drink after a busy week previously, this didn’t tick that box for us"

"Compared with hotels in Asia, the amenities here are relatively basic, as slippers, toothbrushes, and toothpaste are not provided. My only other observation is that the bathroom is not completely sealed off from the room, unlike what you typically find in hotels in Asia. As a result, sounds from the bathroom can be heard quite clearly in the room, which can be slightly uncomfortable. Also the position where the shower head located is not ideal. I wet the whole floor on my first shower!"

"It was a unique experience staying in an old medieval building with a beautiful view of the towers of San Gimignano. The bathroom was a little small, but the room itself was quite spacious. I do wish the bedding had been a little cleaner. The host welcomed us warmly, and the town was absolutely beautiful. It is definitely a place I would love to visit again."
