Not as good as it used to be

This place used to be a beacon of a yha with a pulse and warm heart. Now it's been reduced and personality eroded since being taken over by the new managers. There was no friendly welcome, no advice on local activities it was rather sterile. The building itself is still impressive and location fantastic. I just wish the yha of 2023 was still there in soul

The Beach House was clean with all the amenities we needed eg kitchen, chill out spaces, balcony overlooking the beach. The host was lovely and very customer focused but it’s the ambiance of this lovely old building I love the most.

Not much else available in Port Elliot!

Given the lack of other accommodation available in Port Elliot, the rate is rather high for a Youth Hostel. Room was a bit stuffy and had to keep the window open and the fan going to get rid of the musty smell. Very small ensuite and shower.
