On my arrival the receptionist seemed disinterested in my check in basically going through the motions.
Having payed for my overnight stay in advanced, i decided to pay for my breakfast and parking at check in separately and i asked for a receipt, i was informed i would get it in the morning at check out.
At check out in the morning, i asked for a receipt for my breakfast and parking, which would allow me to process my expenses before i got home. The receptionist informed me they only do paperless billing and could only email me the invoice. This i agreed to however the she sent the invoice to the wrong email address, on the second attempt sent the wrong invoice to the correct address, on the third attempt she sent the full invoice which included my accommodation fee which i have already claimed. This creates an administration problem for me as i requested a separate bill for breakfast and parking parking , especially since i paid for this separately from my accommodation.
I am extremely disatisfied and would not recommend this establishment to anyone.
I have stayed in many Hotels, and this was the first time I felt compelled to complain to manager........ Lots of contacts to reception, by phone and in person, about 2 major faults......all met with a smile and a promise, but NO ACTION!!!!!! I am 71, am on crutches, and had 2 grandchildren with me, so expected to get what I had ordered room wise, and when forced to move, expected a warm room.......
Also expected some more reaction from my complaint.....reduction in payment for example???
Food disappointing, but it is a motorway Hotel, for meetings etc mainly, but I had expected a bit more.
All was good, reasonable parking too. Evening meal we ate took 45 mins to arrive and wasn’t as nice as we expected. Breakfast was excellent.

Hotel and rooms ok. Didn't particularly like the self check in process. On second day u found cleaning staff had removed one of our 2 large bath towels and not replaced it. Had to ask someone at front area for one to be put in room We also found that the TV remote batteries needed replacing. Asked for new batteries at same time as the towel (first thing in the morning). Returned to hotla late afternoon to find batteries not replaced. Had to ask again for them. Subsequently did.
While having breakfast one day, found a chop on the floor beneath the table. If I could see it, then cleaning staff should have seen it.
Apart from these minor niggles, we were happy with the hotel, which was also well located for our needs.
A pleasant over nighter. Nice rooms. Bar prices were ok, didn’t eat here so can’t comment other than £10 for breakfast is a bit steep. Was surprised by the car parking. Whilst only £3 for overnight, it should be free for guests and the automated system needs to be more intuitive!
Pros - handy for motorway and city centre access, great breakfast buffet, friendly helpful staff, leisure centre with pool, gym, sauna and steam room.
Cons - decor a little tired with mouldy sealant around bath, awkward parking system with intimidating notices threatening tow away ( I expect a hotel to have simple parking arrangements for its guests)
Overall - good value. I've stayed here before and would do so again.
Overall a good hotel, more attention to breakfast items stock would have helped, but when pointed out items were re-stocked quickly.
Good atmosphere throughout, an easy stay with no hassle, very good cleanliness and servicing the rooms.
Plenty of parking on site, hassle free.
Great location just off the M1 Junction with Major towns and cities nearby and Yorkshire sculpture park very close.
Would stay again as it was a pleasant stay.
Very disappointing. Check in was unclear, when eventually someone appeared after my knock on the office door, i was told if was self check in.
The room, although on the surface seemed o.k. When i took off my shoes i felt bits under my feet suggesting the carpet was grubby. As no room service on christmas day the bare minimum of refreshment had been provided what there was was a poor selection. Some of the cartons of milk had been opened and left with the sugar, luckily i didn't need them. When i returned in the early evening my key did not work and luckily two guests appeared at the bar with a member of staff who was able to reset the key. He did provide me with additional refreshment when i asked. The room itself was dark an unwelcoming. I will not be staying there again, a travel lodge would have been a better choice! A glass of wine purchased at the bar on christmas eve was not good. I took it to my room in the hope it would improve after i had been for a swim, it didn't and ended up down the drain.

There was items missing from the list of what they said was included. Says there was an iron but no iron, said there was a safe but the room had no safe. Lots of loud shouting in the early hours which could easily be heard from inside of the room.

Good service etc and well priced. Room OK except bedside lights didn't work and the shower was very weak and difficult to use.
Attended for a work Christmas party and stayed overnight. No faults with the cleanliness of the room but there was a strong fusty smell in the bathroom. Couldn’t pinpoint it and towels smelled fresh so a bit annoying not knowing where it was coming from. Shower a bit dated with the white plastic on off dial fading and going black on the edges and took ages to get hot also taps on the bath made me laugh, proper 80’s plastic ones.Hotel itself smart inside but have to go upstairs every time you need the loo as none on the ground floor or so I was told. Staff brilliant and couldn’t do enough for you which made up for the other stuff somewhat. Didn’t have breakfast as too hungover but my colleagues told me it was lovely. Just update the bathrooms as no other problems :)

Disliked: Staff & service
An excellent location right by the M1 and for my business requirements.
However an irritating hotel which does not employ enough staff to provide adequate service.
And why charge £3 for parking when the hotel car park was 90% empty?
Dingy in the roof type family room, with both poor natural and electric lighting. The paintwork was black which absorbed any light there was. Broken lighting in the wardrobe so needed to use phone torch to see our clothes. Broken bath panel, cracked tile grouting, and a shower head that struggled to emit water with enough force to have a shower so stuck to bathing. And the additional family beds were creaky sofa beds with ultra thin mattresses. However the staff, food and general service was very good. It’s the room that let us down
Room was good, but checking in was a nightmare on their electronic checking in system, very impersonal, was given no information on what the hotel had to offer as a guest, just a member of staff to hand out room keys. The bar personnel were great but the modern seating booths were out of place, trying to hard to be up-to date.
Close to M1 but not too close to hear the motorway.
Clean room, good shower and quiet at night.
Expensive breakfast.
Didn't like being approached by the refugee's staying at the hotel for money and cigarettes at the entrance.
The worst hotel you could stay in.
How dare they claim themselves as a four star hotel?
The hotel have no reception, and took us forever to check in with the self check in.
And when you needed help and call the hotel reception, you can never get anyone to pick up the phone.
I lost a wallet in the hotel and called multiple times and st no one ever listen. I’m so frustrated yet no one care nor tries to help.
