The room is generally clean. But the shower could be better - there are visible moulds in those hard-to-reach places. The in-room bar fridge is not cold enough, and it has no freezer section. I wish the parking process can be improved. Currently, you drive to rigth outside the hotel park in the loading zone to check in, then you have to drive around the block (due to one way) to park behind the hotel in a Wilson parking. If it was during the peak hours, this could take some time. I wish it can be advised that so I would go to the carpark first then come through to the hotel to check-in (they are the same building).

Our stay at Double Tree by Hilton in Wellington, NZ was Fantastic! From the staff service to the quality of the room, amenites and the lovely restaurant for our daily breakfasts and dinners. We cannot fault this Hotel. Everyone goes out of their way to make your stay super special. A special 'thank you' to Inder & his colleagues in the restaurant as well as the reception crew - all very supportive, with a special touch. Location of the hotel as well as the rooms were excellent. Easy parking for whoever brings their own vehicle. Most importantly staff are amazing, particularly Shiv who helped us immensely with our extended stay due to weather conditions. I highly recommended this hotel if you are visiting Wellington.

Our stay at DoubleTree by Hilton Wellington was disappointed. We’re honestly confused about how it is rated as a 5-star property. We appreciated being assigned an accessible room upon arrival. However, this was the only hotel during our trip that did not respond to our request for a shower chair. The hotel looks quite different from the photos and feels noticeably older, with an unpleasant smell that made us uncomfortable. Several facilities in the room were not well maintained—water overflowed during showers, the toilet required multiple flushes, and the air conditioning was not effective. Service was inconsistent. We received a warm welcome at check-in, but later interactions felt less welcoming. The morning staff were lovely, while the night shift, who seemed to be management - felt so cold and unwelcoming,. Breakfast was average and did not meet expectations based on the reviews. The only positives were the convenient location and the comfortable bed. Overall, this felt more like a 3 star hotel.

stayed here recently with my 5-year-old daughter while travelling for a funeral, so not exactly the easiest of trips. From the moment we arrived, the staff were incredibly kind and welcoming. They went out of their way to make us feel comfortable, and more importantly, they made my daughter feel really special. At one point she turned to me and said, “everyone here is really, really nice to me” — and that pretty much sums it up. In a tough time, that level of care and genuine kindness meant more than I can put into words. Thank you for looking after us so well — i truly appreciated it.
