“Very pleased with our stay”

“Lovely location with Wooky Holes on the doorstep of the Hotel. Room was basic but clean and had everything you'd want fir an overnight stay. Lovely grounds for a walk. Only negative was bath taps had hot water, but the shower had only had cold water. The mixer thermostat was obviously faulty. Talking to other guests, this seemed to be a common fault as others said their shower only had cold water too.”

“Good quiet location on the edge of Bridgwater looking out onto fields. Busy pub mid-week in April when we were there with people sitting out enjoying the weather. Good dinner and breakfast.”

“Unfortunately, no A/C in room, which is not unusual, but on a very hot day for England, the bathroom towel racks were in full heat and almost boiling. Neither we nor the hotel manager could shut them off. One single fan provided little/no relief and room temp was + 30c degrees and never got to a comfortable temp overnight. “The breakfast was, I’d say, better than in a Hotel Ibis. The food was, definitely, locally sourced. We reached Bruton and the Hauser & Wirth arts complex easily from this hotel. We also visited the Jurassic Coast, but that took us a whole day, and we returned by 10pm.”

“Beautiful traditional beer garden. Great steak for dinner. Very comfortable period room. Lovely breakfast. Most importantly very relaxed, helpful and friendly staff- looking forward to a return visit.”

“A beautiful hotel set in the hills. The room and facilities are good for the money. You also have access to the pool and decently equipped gym which is available throughout your stay. My room unfortunately had rubbish left under my desk but it wasn't the end of the world. As well as some light fittings not functioning.
