"Very friendly and helpful staff. Great place for short stays. Nice breakfast. 12 -15 minutes walk from centre. Rooms are basic and small but adequate. "

"Lovely hosts, room was nice, spacious and good to have a living area rather than just a bed to lay on. Breakfast was incredible, best I have had (I've had a few!)."

"Had a 1 night mid-week stay here & it was brilliant. From check in to leaving it was all done quickly & smoothly.
The apartment was nice, comfy & spacious. Even though its part of a pub albeit next to not above it was really quiet & didnt hear a thing from the pub itself.
The staff were really friendly & acomadating & so were the locals who frequent the pub.
Would highly recommend staying in here to anyone & i certainly would again when in the area."

"This clean and well-situated guest house is run by a friendly family team. The host was helpful and kind, offering assistance when a cab ride fell through. Highly recommended for solo travelers and families alike!"

"We used the Pickled Parson as a home base for a month while visiting family. The room we had for that duration of a stay was a little small, but it was comfortable, clean and made up daily. The staff were all amazing and really made us feel at home. A very relaxed atmosphere with great breakfast options. The bar was a great option to wind down at the end of the day with a night cap.

"Started with a booking issue via Expedia (small double rather than a king-sized bed booked) but resolved directly with the Hosts. Great location, opposite the park and lovely, solid furniture in the room. Parking permits available in the property for a small fee worked well. Just the shower could do with an update. If we visit again, I'd book a room with a bath."

"We stayed in one of the cabins at the rear if the pub. Very clean, and location at back of pub was well maintained and enclosed, which was perfect as we have a dog. Only downside is one shared toilet and shower between the four cabins, it was clean and didnt cause any issues so only small downside. There are other toilets in the pub itself. Each cabin has a double bed, sofa bed, tv and drawer unit and kettle. Tea, coffee, bicsuits and 1 litre bottle of water in cabin on arrival. The pub itself offers good quality food and drink and is very reasonablly priced. We ate there one night and it was excellent, staff are helpful. The breakfast was freshly cooked and very nice. Location wise the pub is a couple of miles outside of Whitby centre. There is access to the old railway line that has been made into a pathway, all the way into Whitby, which is perfect if you have dogs. A nice walk."
"Furniture and fittings very antiquated. Bedding very old and worn, bed linen did not look clean and fresh. Bathroom shower looks as if mould growing around base, not hot water to the basin, towels very worn and ruff. Breakfast very poor, left on landing to help yourself, cereal and fruit only not worth the payment charged. Parking not easy and very limited particularly for the larger car. Expedia stated only one room left that clearly was not the situation. Definitely not value for money."
"Good location and just outside Whitby town with easily accessible bus stops. Free car parking for guest. Food typical chain and overpriced and under taste. Room decent size but no lounging chairs. Tv not smart and too small. No fridge. Bed very uncomfortable. Shower over bath and shower curtain. Not for me."
"The bedroom was immaculate and the breakfast was great, faultless. The area that could be improved is in the spa, and more specifically the restaurant attached. There is a clear issue with staffing, not enough and very new ones not being prepared. During my spa 'experience' I was sent into the restaurant to then be ignored for a good 30 minutes. The one girl in there was apparently not aware me and others were waiting to order food. When it came, the £20 udon noodle 'main' was literally just noodles with a few bits of red chilli and about 1 runner bean. No protein at all. You get £25 to use on the offer, tricky to cover a decent meal and a drink with this. Spa loungers were reserved for you with a little name tag, but had soaked coverings from previous guests. Already looking tired. No staff poolside if you want to order a hot drink etc (there used to be when it first re opened). I felt sorry for the girl in the restaurant, she said it was her first day. She didn't seem to have a clue. Bad service and a lack of it let's the spa down. Crazy when so much has been invested initially in refurb"
"It was not what was on the website when we arrived there was no one to meet us to say which cottage we were staying in I tried calling but no one replied I phone a number that was on a van parked in the carpark who then got in touch the with the gentleman who runs the cottage’s we should of entered at 3:00pm but didn’t get in till 5:00pm I was told I had been sent a message with the code at 09:00 which I never received"
