โModern hotel with good amenities. It was in a quieter area of town, easy to walk to from the train station but still only a few minutes from the city center. Behind the property is the walking trail along the River Ness which was great as we could follow the trail & it brings us to many sights in Inverness.
The room itself was very clean & spacious for my husband and I, the bed was very comfortable.
Overall, I would recommend staying at this property when in Inverness because of the great...
โAll employees go above and beyond! Beautiful place, food was great, and room was spacious! Built in the 18th century, everyone knows about the hotel!โ
โBooked as a stop off before nc500 and was pleasantly surprised at how beautiful the hotel was, very clean, very nice rooms and the bed super comfy. Bathroom was beautiful too.
Had evening meal too, although restaurant was full we could sit in the bar area for food. A little noisy but Iโm in the bar what could I expect lol
Really enjoyed our stay โ
โIn summer, this is one of the good hotels you can choose in highland area. I had difficulty in trying to find and reserve a satisfactory hotel in highland because my reservation was made only one month earlier. If you take into consideration price, room cleanness, breakfast and staff kindness, etc., this is one of best choices that you can make during summer season. If you are a little bit late for early reservation, this hotel is highly recommended.โ
โRooms have been recently renovated, the young lady at the desk actually took the time to show us to our rooms. I have never had that happen before. โ
โBlack Friars was an absolutely lovely place to stay, conveniently located away from the busiest streets, but still within walking distance. It was quiet; the staff was great; room was clean. We recommend!
Things that may matter to you: there is no elevator, or air conditioning.
Recommend the bar scene, and if you're there on a night "Old Fools" plays, don't miss them!โ
โLovely building in a quiet area but easily walkable to the town centre. Thereโs a car park right at the hotel. Check in was in the bar area, which was fine, thereโs no lift but thereโs only a couple of floors anyway. No breakfast but we were already aware and happy to eat elsewhere. Room and en-suite were nice, room had a fridge which was great! We had plenty of towels. Only drawbacks were, bed was a bit creaky, and the bathroom could have done with a little shelf or worktop to set toiletries ...
