“We stayed for one night on our way back to Devon from Kent and we had a truly lovely time. Our room was large and sunny and had everything we could want. There was a lovely beer garden where we had a drink enjoying the afternoon sun and a really lovely dinner and super cooked to order breakfast. Staff were really friendly. A really great place to stay.”

“Out of the ordinary inn with a full restaurant and pub, includes off-street parking. First-rate menu with a good wine list. The rooms are surprisingly large, clean, modern and comfortable with every square inch of wall space covered with 18th-19th Century art and bric-a-brac. My room had both a full bath tub and a separate walk-in shower. Friendly staff. Within easy walking distance of the Cathedral. ”

“Had just one night’s stay at this hotel and wished we’d organised to stay a little longer. Very well situated for the high street and cathedral. Food was amazing- we had breakfast included and opted to have dinner there too. Ate dinner outside as it was such a lovely evening. Could not fault. ”

“The venue was nice but felt a little tired. The window in the room we had did not shut properly as it was broken. The table in the room was sticky and dusty. The lift had a very poor paint job. The bar had a limited choice of drinks However the staff were friendly and the food at breakfast was good. Unfortunately there was a lack of small plates on the 1st morning and on the 2nd morning although there was a pile of plates in was actually a mixture of plates and saucers. “My husband and I stayed here for 1 night and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The surrounding areas/gardens were kept lovely (especially the bunnies!). The towels, bed linen and pillows were all of good quality & our room was very spacious. Some TLC needed in areas such a grouting, limescale build up on the bath taps and chipped varnish on floor board but for the cost paid (£104) it was good value.
