The best way to verify whether a property keeps everything clean is by looking at the underside of a toilet seat and the towels. Both were clean and I had no problem using their towels. Decent price and very well lit with lots of parking space. I will choose this place next time I have to visit Winston Salem.

My room had multiple water bugs and roaches. My room was also not cleaned before I got there (there was a beer bottle under the bed) and only “cleaned once I left: my towels and washcloths stayed there the entire stay. I’m personally okay with the cheap paint and tiny holes in the wall, but burns mold and bugs are my biggest pet peeve and boy was it there. The staff was nice and cordial but it’s hard to undo the aforementioned issues.

The staff was great. The property needs some upkeep. The rooms need to be redone. My bed, bathtub, and sink had hair in them. However, my stay was pleasant. I felt safe in my surroundings. I was close to food and stores.

Overall, my stay was pleasant, and I would consider staying here again. The price was reasonable compared to other options. The exterior of the hotel appears a bit outdated. Regardless, my room was clean and in good condition and the area was quiet. I encountered two minor issues that didn’t significantly affect my overall experience or rating. First, I wished the lamps had USB ports for charging devices. Second, the check-in process was quite lengthy. The front desk attendant couldn’t provide change for the $50 security deposit. She had to go to another part of the hotel to find the change, but unfortunately, she couldn’t find any. While I could have paid with a card, the hotel specifically recommends cash for the security deposit. If cash is recommended, and even required to purchase snacks available in the lobby, management should make certain change is available for their staff.

Lots of improvements

I have stayed at this location many times over the years. I have to say the new management/owners have made a lot of improvements and updates. If you haven't stayed at this location in a while I would recommend you giving them another chance. I believe you will have the same experience I have had and will pe presently surprised at how much of a difference the nightly says are from now to prior years. The cosmetic updates of course are nice but even the environment seems to be a more peaceful place.

Did not like the room. Needs renovation and deep cleaning—daily cleaning would be great. Bathroom was unkempt. Smoke alarm was swapped out and old one remained on the bathroom counter. Everywhere else was sold out and this was a last minute reservation so we had no choice.

Three nights in Kernersville

I found my room to be clean. It had recently been painted. The TV and wifi worked well. The bed was clean and comfortable. The AC worked well. It appeared that the owners are investing in updating the rooms. There are still some deficiencies with simple things. There was nowhere to hang clothes so I had to lay them out on the sofa, negating a comfortable place to sit. A large desk was supplied with a nice business chair, but there was not enough room between the desk and the end of the bed to fit the chair. There were only a few electrical outlets in the room. None were close enough to plug in a laptop and work at the desk unless someone traveled with an extension cord. I stayed three nights at this motel and did not receive one bit of room/maid service. The toilet flushed but was almost clogged enough to overflow. As I left the motel early one morning I asked the front desk to have someone check it out to avoid an overflow. On my return that evening there was no evidence anyone looked at it as it still flushed as it did when I left in the morning. The first two nights I did not even have a plastic cup in the room. After two nights in this motel, I returned to the room and the door lock light would respond to the key card, but the door would not open. A maintenance person was called and I was asked to remain in the room for an hour to let him in. After two hours, no one had appeared. I was finally given a new room. Simple changes could have really improved my stay.
