An amazing service, reception are super helpful, rooms are luxurious, modern and ultimately clean. Great poo, great spa, dinner at the Michelin restaurant was fantastic.

Incredible all around

Our stay was amazing from the moment we arrived to the moment we left. A spectacular week of beautiful views of ocean and mountains, along with a pool and firepit set amongst it all. Service was incredible from small to larger requests. Food was absolutely delicious and varied and atmosphere natural and reflective of the island. I hope I never lose the memory of this hotel or the island. It was a true unique vacation.

Incredible place! The hotel staff were amazing, very friendly and on point. They didnโ€™t miss a beat. They helped us arrange a rental car through their property, dinners, and hiking tours. They have a spa on site which is great. We were lucky enough to get sunshine both day we were there but had we been โ€œrained inโ€ itโ€™s a perfect place to lounge and relax. We had the smaller room and this room was NOT small at all! Highly recommend!!!!

Sankara was a perfect oasis of peace and tranquility on Yakushima Island. The service was impeccable. Everyone knew who we were and the villa we were staying at. So polite, gracious and helpful. The facilities were top notch and the spa was wonderful. We sampled the massages and facial treatments. Amazing experience. Dinner options were perfect. We were very impressed. My only complaint was the breakfast got a little repetitive and boring. We will definitely return.
