Shame about check out

This hotel is great and we couldn’t fault our stay until check out time..... we had already paid for the hotel prior to our stay yet we were asked to pay again for the room! Apparently the hotel has recently changed hands and there is some issue with the accounts transferring over so the hotel isn’t currently receiving the payments people are paying ( going to the old company). We politely explained that this was not our issue and we wouldn’t be paying for the room twice!! This just put a negative spin on our stay but otherwise the hotel and stay was excellent!

Great stay, thanks for everything!

The stay was brilliant, straight away everything was clearly explained to us and we were offered how much we wanted room service die to CoVid restrictions. Personal was just amazing. Rooms are big and so are beds, all very comfortable and functional. Rooms look a bit old style but it makes total sense with a building that is a few hundred years old. Maybe only downside was sound insulation is not great, so we cloud hear other guests like they were in the room with is!

Staff deserve a bonus

Beautiful quaint hotel, well maintained, the staff and service at breakfast were amazing, plenty of them going the extra mile to be helpful, and friendly. Food excellent. Room was spotless. We will definitely try to book here again if we return to the area, no where else comes close. Well done Best Western, the staff here know how to run a hotel!!

Great little break.

Everything good, food excellent, nice facilities, would have liked a trooey left with extras for the room( coffee,milk, loo rolls etc) ad the cleaner was not able to come and replenish. Staff alk friendky and helpful. Would stay again.

Weekend Break

The breakfast was good quality and fair choice. The gym and leisure facilities were excellent.. Room comfortable and staff helpful I have paid a lot more than this for a worst hotel I will be using this again for business travel.

Excellent stay at the Crown Hotel

Great reception when we arrived at the Crown Hotel, Dawn was very helpful and friendly and funny!! Our room was lovely, clean, comfortable and the bathroom was lovely and clean too. Breakfast was excellent. All the staff we spoke to was friendly and helpful nothing was too much trouble, they all went above and beyond to make our stay great. Didn’t want to leave!

Only stayed one night but could not fault it. Our room was 82 and tucked away at the end of the corridor so lovely and peaceful with no one passing our room. Leisure facilities were lovely too although we didn’t use the pool it looked very nice. We did use the gym which was clean. Would definitely stay again

The hotel is best described as homely, is it amazing 5 star? No but the hotel staff are amazingly helpful quite possibly the nicest hotel staff we have met. Nice little gym, decent sized bedroom and bathroom, nice food like you’d expect when it says pub food. Stay again? Absolutely

Good stop for overnight.

Reception staff friendly and helpful. Family room spacious and plenty for room for three adults. Really enjoyed the pool facility on an overnight stop. Breakfast ok but not the coffee! Recommend tea instead.

Nice stay. Stayed with family, room average. No bads really. Very nice staff, from management to staff in restaurant, very helpful and positive. Made our stay much much better. Nice swimming pool with Sauna. Very relaxing. Yes, we would definitely stay here again. And by the way, food in restaurant is amazing. Recommended.

May appear negative but it’s overall appreciative

This is a lovely somewhat eccentric hotel with a local charm. Room 30, ours, really should be avoided as it is on the top of the first floor stairs, with fire doors to the left and right. Every late arrival and early morning departure awakens you. They hotel is on a very busy road so noise intrusion is also dire. Nonetheless as stated the hotel has a lovely eccentricity with pleasant staff, a good pool and good car park. The bar prices were very good and we ate there the last and evening food was pleasant. My partner liked the hotel’s more than me, but overall I didn’t dislike it. To improve provide additional tea, coffee etc to customers staying more than a night e.g. left outside their door, during Covid 19 restrictions. Move the TV in the room as it was only available to see from the bed, despite the room having a lovely table and chairs seating area.

Long weekend break

Very friendly and helpful staff. The leisure facilities were excellent and easy to access. Bath was rather small which also limits the shower space, so may be worthwhile to consider the larger room options. Overall, a thoroughly enjoyable experience.
