“The hotel was clean and conveniently located (about a 10 min walk from the railway station). It isnt super close to the city center (about 20 min), but the walk isn’t too strenous (no hills!). Would recommend.”

“This was my first stay at the Minster Hotel. It is in an excellent location, just a short walk from York Minster itself. Although the front of the hotel is on a busy road, most of the rooms are in annexes across a courtyard at the back of the hotel. My room was there, and it was extremely quiet. The room was large and well laid out, as was the bathroom. All the staff were very friendly and helpful (particularly when I returned to the hotel about 15 minutes after checking out, when I realised...

“The room and hotel worked for what it was offering! I enjoyed my stay and the staff were very friendly and helpful, but the door to the room I was staying in wasn’t working properly so I did run into some minor issues there. Other than that, it was very smooth sailing! Would recommend!”

“Make sure to check in via the hotel entrance on Blake Street and not make the mistake of entering the restaurant (which is affiliated but not hotel management) - they tried to tell us the room wasn't ready and suggested we have some drinks in their venue (at our cost) until there room was ready and the 'reception queue' had died down. We ignored their offer and got checked in within 10 mins when we found the correct entrance. The hotel management should do themselves a favour and advise the...

“Friendly owner, good communication. Comfortable and clean. Property is convenient for the minster and restaurants/bars. Good value for money in a pricey city”

“Great hotel. We used the baggage drop off before and after checkout which was a really helpful option. Room wads comfortable and clean. Bar area was comfortable and late opening hours convenient. Breakfast was fab. Loads of choice for everyone. Would recommend and eould stay again as very convenient for York City centre.”

“This is a lovely place to stay and it’s right in the heart of York. We travelled by train and it’s a short walk from the station. We were able to leave our bags ahead of check-in and after checkout. The room was fabulous and bed so comfortable. The breakfast was included in price and plentiful. We’re going again!”
