it was the most unexpected experience. I booked a room from 21 to 22 and from 22 to 23 May. On the first date I booked a standard room with two queen beds. The second date was almost sold out and I booked only the last available room in the whole city, it was a king suite.
When checking in on May 22, I received the keys and went to my room, to my surprise it was again a standard with queen beds.
I asked at the reception if there was a mistake with my room, since I paid for a king?
To which I received the most incredible answer "a family with a pet came to us, so we made an upgrade for you to a room with two beds (standard queen)"
I tried to clarify that I paid more but received a simpler room? I was told the story about the pet again)
I have a very warm attitude towards pets, but I don't understand at all if they took money from me for a suite, but gave me a standard, why do they tell me that this is an upgrade and not a downgrade?
You can just say that we have a shortage of rooms, we only have this one. And not turn everything upside down.
