"When you first walk into the lobby, the resort looks beautiful. Staff helps with luggage, and the check-in process is easy. They have staff handing out “Welcome!” drinks. They were able to accommodate my top-level, ocean-view room with a king bed which was nice. When you get onto the elevator, that is kind of when the “magic” starts to disappear. There are only 4 elevators. I think maybe 1-2 of them have A/C, the others do not. You can start to see just how run down the rest of the place is. The room was simple, but very obviously just kind of dingy. A/C could not keep up. We could not get the room to drop below 24 degrees celsius the entire trip. Put in a maintenance request after the 1st night and nothing got better. Housekeeping was great though. All the pools were nice, food was relatively decent. Was hard to get someone to take our drink order at the buffet if we wanted a mimosa. The activities the ‘RiuFun’ team does are fun, and we enjoyed a few of the games. If you want to do any excursions or activities, I HIGHLY recommend talking to David with MTS. He was the highlight of our trip, and truly went above and beyond for us. He is at the resort daily, and is great. Elevators take forever, and are tiny. They fill up quick. Lack of A/C is not enjoyable in 80+ degree heat. Bed wasn’t the most comfortable. If you want to stay in this area, stay next door at Riu Palace Los Americas. Much better experience overall at that resort."

"I absolutely loved my stay at Paradisus Cancun. The staff were so helpful and genuinely gave good vibes. Initially , i was sceptical about the food especially with having a 2 year old toddler. I can report that the buffet was amazing. Isreal, our family concierge was a 10/10. I can’t say we’ll be back again cos I’d love to see the other resorts but we’ll never forget Paradisus. Only tiny tiny negative were the day time calls to check in on us - a bit annoying when you have a toddler who’s napping. 9/10 experience all round. Kenny"
