"What an amazing location. The boat from La Pavona was great thanks to transportation Smith where we were able to choose better arrival and departure times than the lodges own which they told us a week before we arrived that we could not use. However this definitely did not distract from the great staff, friendly welcome, good food and excellent location. We walked into the village which is a must and had a good lunch at a soda. "The staff at the Serendipity are great. Angie picked us up at the port and walked us back early in the morning on departure day, Anna served breahfasts, lunches and dinners in the courtyard, and they all helped to arrange tours. We did the kayak tour with Wesley and found it very enjoyable and informative. Also did a walkabout with Jonathan, which was lots of fun. Tortuguero was a very worthwhile place to visit, we would come back and stay at the Serendipity again."

"If I could, I would have stayed longer in this establishment. The pictures and description does not do justice to this amazing place. The rooms are old but in reasonable state, and they are clean. The breakfast is good and with a perfect view over the garden. The garden is the best thing about the place. The property is actually like an island with a small old metal bridge and it is full of mutiple species of Heliconia and also a nice untouched forest for small walk and discovery. We saw both...

"Initially this hotel seems placed on the noisy main road with the dining room open to it. But the rooms are at a distance in the forest. Thus complete silence. The pool was very good and the food excellent. My room had a shower that worked but needed some attention to the head. Having put an expresso machine in the bedroom it seemed odd to only get one capsule when was staying three nights. Staff so helpful. "Lovely little place five minutes walk from the port. Great air con and nice to share the facilities next door with a great little pool and lovely breakfast. All the staff were great. The only improvement I would suggest is a fridge and coffee maker in the room, and we think someone could make some money offering a bag carrying service from the port with a cart! It’s very hot with heavy bags. But overall a lovely stay - thank you! "

"Brilliant hotel in a great beach-front location. The room was very large and the bed was very comfortable. The shower was very good. The staff were all very nice and extremely helpful, particularly Leo who was regularly ensuring that we were happy with everything. Breakfast is made to order to suit your preferences and was very tasty. Nice hammocks to relax in. The staff even took our luggage to the dock for us"
