"The staff was very friendly and helpful. We don't speak Italian but we were able to use electronic translations to convey our needs and the staff was very helpful. The hotel was not busy and we were very pleased with their restaurant, even though we were the only patrons."

"We loved this hotel, very nice room, great and friendly staff, restaurant onsite was useful and food excellent, great breakfast as well. Note - It is next to a railway line so trains going through early hours of the morning which woke the local roosters which in turn got the neighbourhood dog going! not much sleep after that - not really a complaint because everything else at this property was great. "Overall the infrastrcture was good, but lacking in details such as in room tea/coffee facilities, towel rails, table & chairs, iron. Also sun protection for balconies & over pool. Staff were helpful & mostly lovely, friendly."

"Overall a nice property but like many other hotels in southern Italy, even when hot they would not turn on the AC. They wait until some later date. This made the nights quite uncomfortable. Otherwise, things were very good."

"Popilia was an incredible place to stay. Eveything about the resort is amazing. The staff is incredibly friendly and was always very helpful. The rooms are comfortable and immaculately kept. The grounds are also meticulously maintianed. The pools is huge and makes you feel like you are in the Caribbean. The restaurant is also very good. If i had to give one criticism it would be to have a wider selection of food options for lunch or dinner. Otherwise 10 out of 10!!"

"Just stopped overnight, and I admit I was too ambitious about my Italian driving skills. No judgement from these guys - They ferried us back and forth to the car, helped us find parking, and shared some stories about the town. Will come back one day for a proper stay. "

"The property itself is gorgeous. The only downsides are 1. food on resort is a bit of a miss (not enough simple, local dishes in favor of fancy over-the-top dishes ) although breakfast was lovely and 2 you have to have a car to get to Tropea as the resort is isolated and there is not much to do in terms of activities or entertainment. If the weather is nice, you are in for a treat because their beach staff is impeccable and their grounds are breathtaking."
