"Very nice property near beautiful gardens. Only issue was my wife got food poisoning in their restaurant. Also, the restaurant was fairly small, so it tended to be very crowded at mealtime with less than great seating."

"The George is an outstanding hotel. The service was amazing. The bistro and bar were very good. The room was very comfortable and modern. The location is right next to the Avon River and park and is a perfect place to stay at in Christchurch if you want to walk to the main attractions. "

"Had a very comfortable and convenient 4 day stay in female 4 bed ensuit room. Everything was great. Only issue I had was the noise coming from closing of doors out of other rooms with bangs and loud noises in the middle of the night other than that I had a lovely stay. I would highly recommend it. "Beautiful property and very friendly owners. The room and common areas were spacious and private. The grounds are well kept, and the house is about to undergo maintenance which should polish it up - not that it needs much. Breakfast was sensational - big serves and really high quality. The owner was very friendly offering site seeing advice when asked, and helping me make a doctors appointment when I got ill (nothing to do with them). Beautiful, I'll go back for sure."
