"I have stayed in lots of hotels in lots of places and this hotel is the best I have ever stayed in. Service was exemplary from check-in to bar staff (Hayad was beyond amazing) to the restaurant staff to housekeeping). Do not miss the breakfast buffet or the river view at dinner. "This cruise exceeded my expectations. Spacious cabins, wonderful sundeck, excellent food, smooth cruising, small capacity relative to other boats and service oriented staff made for a very enjoyable time. At first I was going to book my own guides, but opted instead to book the cruise's siteseeing package. Glad I did, Hamad our guide was outstanding and there can be delays in the cruise do to timing in the river locks which could make coordination with outside guides difficult and stressful. ...

"We booked the Royal Lily through Hotels.com rather than as part of a wider tour. The whole experience was excellent from start to finish. I would strongly recommend travelling with Movenpick if you are visiting Egypt independently rather than as part of a tour. There are very few reviews for Movenpick Royal Lily so I'll try and give as much information as I can. "Disclaimer: we were moved to the Steigenberger Minerva, so the review covers that ship. However, the Royale is most likely quite comparable as they are in the same class and are operated by the same company. Overall, we really liked this cruise. The ship is in great condition, felt like both the common areas and the rooms have been recently renovated (or are very well maintained). "The ship is very nice, the room was pretty confortable, the service and attention was exceptional and the food diverse and delicious. In general Is a very good ship that I would recommend a lot. We also got a free upgrade to a suite. The only part I would have liked to know before booking was the sightseeing was not included in the itinerary, so it must be paid on board. I would have liked that it was mentioned in the same itinerary and the extra cost per person per day. "
