Its exhausting & demoralizing, trying to keep a good mood & enjoy your trip while all Egyptians see "all tourists" as "marks". I have been all over the world to some of the most impoverished countries & never have I felt like I did in Egypt. Definitely different from the run of the mill Western style hotels, only minutes away from the Nile..Way more peaceful than the east bank situated in a very friendly village. The management and staff were amazingly helpful and kind. The restaurant was great, we never even bothered eating anywhere else. "
