Find Ski Hotels in Akakura Onsen

The room was wonderful and had everything we needed for a short snowboarding trip. The room was very clean and well-maintained, and I wished I had more time chilling in bed. Highly appreciate the thoughtful hosts, and we had a BLAST! 10000% would come back again

We really enjoyed our stay at this family run ryokan. Staff was friendly and helpful and the room was spacious and clean. Food was excellent and had a very warm, home cooked meal vibe. Access to town was good and easy and skiing conditions were top notch!

I just loved loved loved loved loved staying here — the owners are wonderful. Extremely hospitable and helpful. It has a local Japanese vibe that you don’t get in some places The rooms were super comfortable and well heated, breakfast was yummy. Thank you for the warm hospitality

The place is great.

Our room was very comfortable with an amazing view of the lake. The hosts were so friendly and welcoming.

I knew I wanted to snowboard at Lotte Arai Resort but I read that it was in a very small town and basically only the resort buildings so i picked this spot because they offered a free shuttle to the nearby mountains. (Not Lotte though its a 40 minute drive and I had to get a separate bus. It was very easy though and the owner was able to help me figure it all out. If you do that route bring cash, it costs 2,000 jpy one way). When I arrived from Tokyo it was a complete 360 in scenery. It was...

The whole place was amazing. Friendly and helpful staff!!! 10/10

This was a very nice experience for me and my family. The hotel itself is very nice, but the best part is the service provided by the staff. Extremely courteous and they provided for all our requests. It's in a very nice location with 9 onsens (hot spings) within walking distance. As long as you stay in a hotel in town, you get a free key to access all of them. The hotel provides you with a Onsen outfit that we found very fun to walk around in (like a kimono with jacket and wooden sandels)....

All around incredible stay. Located on the Onsen road, with access to two public baths outside of the hotel, two very well equipped Onsen within the hotel, and the option to reserve a private Onsen as well. Not listed on when booking, but the hotel picked us up from the train station, as well as runs a free shuttle once every morning (940am) to the monkey park. Really nice touch that they should publicize more broadly. Highly recommend getting breakfast and dinner included. Highlight of the...

Very enjoyable experience with polite staff in kimono. If one would like to immerse themselves in Japanese tradition with tatami floors, sleeping on futon, and taking a traditional bath (onsen)/dress in yukata provided by the hotel, then this is the hotel for you.

The rooms are small by the American standards. Breakfast is ¥1600/person. Easy access to JR station.

This was the last place we stayed during our honeymoon trip to Korea and Japan — we had the "Japanese Style with Open Air Bath B (Take)" room which was massive and featured an outdoor bathing area with piped in hot spring water. We had an amazing host who explained everything about the room, a spectacular dinner was included, and overall a really magical evening. Definitely worth the cost. Still thinking about our time there...

Really nice place. You get access to the 9 onsen nearby and the town is cute and quiet. Definitely opt in for meals, they are AMAZING.
