"Wonderful stay, very nice, polite and helpful staff which is quite out of the ordinary for the Netherlands where service is generally and mostly inexistent. To illustrate this, I reported a leak problem with my shower a few hours after checking in. The concierge reported it promptly but maintenance chose to ignore it and it was not fixed until the last evening of my 3-day stay and my reporting the problem 4 times… This kind of situation should never happen in a hotel of this level. Other than that I loved my stay at the Krasnapolsky"
"The hotel is ideally located next to Centraal Station. The canal boats are opposite the hotel entrance, and lovely restaurants/ bars & souvenir shops are only a short walk away.
The hotel is basic but clean and bright.
I will definitely stay here next time I visit Amsterdam."
"Hotel was nice and clean, in a good location and not far from a tram spot, which made getting to and from central station with our bags very easy but everything was within walking distance, the staff member that helped us check in was very pleasant and helpful, our room unfortunately had one tiny window with little to no natural light getting in and the main light in the room worked whenever it wanted too and it certainly wasn’t sound proof aswell could hear voices and knocks and bangs from maintenance work I’m assuming, overall we had good stay"
"I was disappointed by the hotel being a Marriott named hotel. It needs to be refurbished and updated It wasn’t the level of Mariott as I am used to experiencing in the USA. For having executive level status, I was not impressed with the executive lounge and its amenities. Most of the snacks were in jars and weren’t kept up - filled up. With children having the ability to be loose in the lounge I think packaged snacks would be the better option as opposed to young kids accessing the open containers of snacks with their hands. Not at all appealing. Also, experienced young children during hors d’oeuvre and drink time (late afternoon) , taking large spoonfuls of warm mashed potatoes piling on their plates leaving the rest of the guests in the lounge with no mashed potatoes - and no replacement of that dish during the hors d’oeuvres time.. So all that was left were meat meatballs for the rest of the guest to enjoy. The staff handling the lounge did nothing to try to control the roaming young children in the lounge. It was not at all a good look for Marriott. We paid Alton’s money for these rooms and expect that level of excellence. Again, it impressed with the executive lounge or the staff running it. One other time I was fumbling to open the liunge with key and no assistance from the greeti g liu ge staff taking down my nimber to room to access the lounge. Disappointed with the Hotel and amenities."
