Best Western Columbia River Waterfront Hotel Astoria
10/10 Excellent
"Excellent location, next to grocery store and Starbucks! Friendly staff, large clean rooms, and variety of breakfast foods. Only 1 elevator, but it never took long, and the stairs were clean and safe as an option!"
"Best place to see ships on the river and fishing boats at the big docks outside our back window.
They have good screen doors to open and listen to the birds and watch the fishing boats dock nearby.
Best breakfast included some hot oatmeal and make some toast for your scrambled egg patties and sausage gravy and Great coffee if they can keep making it.
Bob ? Mornings Was So very friendly and caring not to put us over the laundry room as a few years ago when I wasn’t feeling good from surgery and this time too had more back surgery so he put us close to the office where I didn’t have to walk far for breakfast and parking by the door for my handicap parking.
The young lady in afternoon was very friendly too and helped me with the paperwork.
Great staff and for trying to keep up on the coffee.
Big parking lot and you do have to put the pass in the window of the car.
Is an older motel but clean but need to take carpets out.
Great microwave and fridge that has freezer space for your ice packs.
No AC so good for off season, heater works great.
Thanks for your caring Staff."
"Hotel is under construction for remodeling. Disappointed that the hot tub was not in-service. Regardless the stay was good and the staff was wonderful."
"The Good: This place has an amazing view of the Bay and you can see the ships and the bridge off in the distance on the water. We could hear the sea lions barking from our balcony. Even the view at night when it's dark is pretty cool. It's also nice to be able to sit out by the firepit or dip in the jacuzzi.
The staff was very helpful. We didn't arrive until late at night but there was a number for me to call to receive instructions on how to get my room key and access my room. No real hassles or delays even though I arrived at almost midnight.
The room was good size. There were monogrammed robes for us to wear. Plenty of towels and other amenities you expect to find. They even had a pair of binoculars for us to use to try and get a closer look from our balcony.
The average: The only real thing I can honestly say wasn't great was the shower water pressure. Perhaps it is an eco-friendly type thing for water conservation purposes, but I felt like my showers took a little extra time because I had to wait for enough water to hit me to rinse off.
Overall a great place to stay, would totally stay here again the next time we visit the area."
