"This is a truly wonderful and unique hotel! It is an old prison that has been remodeled into a beautiful hotel — believe it or not! You will not find another hotel quite like it. The care and attention they took to preserve and enhance the character of this place is amazing. The atmosphere is cozy, warm, and inviting. The staff were all tremendous — respectful, positive, and extremely helpful. They genuinely wanted us to be comfortable, and we certainly were. The included breakfast was delicious, with a huge variety of choices, and is served in a very cozy area of the basement surrounded by the original brick walls. Even more impressive, dinner and Fika (tea and cake) were also included in the price! That is very rare and was greatly appreciated, especially because we didn’t have to leave the hotel to find somewhere to eat. Our room was very clean and comfortable, and the Wi-Fi worked fine. The location was excellent, right on the tram line. We took the tram and train to the airport, which was extremely convenient. We also walked to the waterfront market, which is a must-see. There were lots of nice things to buy, and the food from the market tents was fantastic. The ferries are also there. You can actually visit an original single prison cell as well as a very intimidating group cell. It really gives you a sense of what the building was like in the past. This may be one of the best all around hotel experiences, especially for the price, that we have ever had. Thank you!"

"Great place to stay if you’re a self-sufficient traveller, who doesn’t need (or want) the pampering and daily room cleaning of a hotel. Citibox is steps from the metro, but also a nice walk to the centre. Kitchen and common areas are well-maintained. Coffee is pricey (and on the weak side, especially if you're used to French/Italian coffee). Would definitely stay here again, but next time will bring my own coffee (and tea bags), and borrow a kettle to brew my own."

"I stayed in a studio and loved the convenience of a mini kitchen. Location is great, next to transport and a shopping centre and just a few stops to Helsinki Central. Staff were very helpful"

"My wife and I had a short stay over in Helsinki, and this hotel was perfect! The location is unbeatable with access to the main train station, downtown, and a lot of food options within a few minutes walk. The hotel itself was very clean, and comfortable. The sauna was amazing, and you have to make time for it. All in all, I highly recommend this hotel."
