Baskins Creek Falls Tours

On the Roaring Fork Motor Nature Trail in the Great Smoky Mountains NP. Follow the Motor Nature trail to a small lot just before the Alex Cole cabin. This is where the road passes over Baskins Creek. This trail is known as both the Baskins Creek Trail and the Graveyard Ridge Trail. The graveyard is only a few hundred yards from the parking area. The falls on the other hand is about 1.6 miles on a moderate trail. Be careful!! The last time I hiked it there was NO sign marking where to turn left and cross the stream to get to the falls. You can also continue on the Baskins Creek Trail past the turnoff to the falls and wind up back at the Motor Nature trail, near the Rainbow Falls parking area. This entire route is about 2 1/2 miles, but note that the portion past the falls turnoff going to Rainbow Falls is more strenuous than the first part. ALSO: note that this is a one-way road and you will need someone to drive your car back around the Nature Trail to meet you back at the Rainbow Falls parking area.
