"This is the first time I've booked a hotel that "nagged" guests to leave early. I rented (2) rooms; one for me and one for my adult son. Our rooms were on the second floor, which we didn't mind at all. I'm unsure if there was an elevator, as the front desk person didn't specify. We tried to find one, with no luck, before hauling our luggage up via the stairs. Still, not a big deal.
I was awoken at 8:30 by a text message from the hotel asking when I planned to check out. Keep in mind, check-out is 11:00 a.m. I filled out the "check-out" survey with the link they provided, stating I would be checking at 11:00 a.m. We needed rest after a long journey, and another one ahead of us. At 10:00 a.m., there were loud, persistent knocks on my door. I opened the door to a housekeeping member asking when I would be leaving. Initially, I thought it was my son, as he was staying in the room next to mine.
I told the housekeeping member that I would be leaving in 20 minutes or so. He said, "That's fine. You still have an hour". Why did I submit my check-out time if it didn't matter to the staff?
I don't understand a hotel rushing people out, especially for the price. Quite disappointed and will choose other accommodations so I can relax while traveling through next time."
"The staff was pleasant and helpful, but accommodations definitely were beat up, outdated and in need of attention. I liked the fact that I could walk my dog each day around the pond...right up until another resident let their bigger dog loose and it charged me and my dog again and again - trying to hump her - all the way back to the safety of our room. I am 79 years old and was quite exhausted and upset about no one (not even the dog owner) coming to my aid. That dog kept charging us from different directions each time I swatted him away. It was a terribly frightening experience for both myself and my dog. I decided to only walk my dog at the nearby park afterwards.
I stayed at this motel because it allowed pets, and I broght documentation that my dog was an ESA - Emotional Support Animal - but I was still charged $10 per day ($140 + tax) in addition to the room charges for my 2-week stay there. This was not called for, because I always cleaned up after my dog and she brought no bad habits to this motel - she's a clean, well behaved pet.
After these experiences, all I can say is that I would never stay at Tri-Terrace Motel again."
"First, I want to state that the staff at the front desk was very helpful and pleasant to work with.
That being said, our first room had ants all over the floor, dead and alive. Our second room had the security flap engaged and we couldn't even get in. Our third (and final) room was clean. The furniture looked new and the bed was very comfortable. The bathroom, however, did not have hot water coming out of the sink faucet.
I was told that they are in the middle of renovations."
"Had a great stay for a week at this hotel. Definitely a step up from the hotel behind it, and the location on Cook Road is nicely surrounded by various food and shopping options. The two double bed room was very spacious and the bathroom was nice, however I felt the bathroom did not have sufficient ventilation and the use of a sliding barn door on the bathroom was a bit lacking in the privacy department. The microwave being located outside of the room is a bit inconvenient, but it ended up being very close to my room. The refrigerator did not seem to get particularly cold. Staff were excellent, very helpful and kind. The pool area was clean and served as a great area to host my friends. Additionally, the rooms with balconies that come out to that area are a neat concept. The smoking gazebo is nice as a smoker, but I would appreciate a couple more being added as groups of people were occupying it at times throughout the day as a hang out spot (valid as it’s a nice spot to be.) Also some guy dropped an onion slice in there and left it (not valid.) The only major negative experience I had was when the water went out unexpectedly for a full day, That was very inconvenient as I was not able to shower, use the toilet or brush my teeth for a full day. I’m willing to consider it a fluke, but I was disappointed that it took so long to resolve. I will still happily stay at this hotel again in the future."
"Don't believe the good reviews.
The hotel is in need of new management.
My room was a 2-queen-bed room.
The floor of the bathroom was dirty. I could feel it when I walked on it in my bare feet. The bath towel for preventing water on the floor was dirty. I could literally see the dirty footprints of the previous user.
The wall had repairs on every wall and was just repaired with joint compound and not painted.
The curtains were falling down, and from the outside of the building, when you looked closer, you could see that all the rooms had the curtains falling and deteriorating.
The bathtub had somebody else's hair in the drain.
Do not stay here. This owner should sell and allow someone else to come in and refurbish the place. Although it may already be too far gone.
My companion had a room with a king-size bed, and their room was just as bad, with patches on the walls. No shampoo. Curtains falling down."
"The rooms were fairly spacious for the price, and there was a Lazy-Boy! It was the most comfortable hotel chair ever.
Breakfast was underwhelming at best."
"It was the off season apparently as I was one of the only guests, if not THE only one. The room was nice. In the morning, I was cooked a fresh hot breakfast since they weren’t having the buffet due to so few guests. It was great! I only stayed for one night as I was just passing through, but everything was wonderful!"
