“Really friendly team, who genuinely care. Excellent breakfast. Lovely bedroom.
Fantastic position in the middle of town. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
Would definitely recommend the King's Head”
“AVOID THE HOTEL VERSION OF A SUPERMARKET SELF SERVICE TILL.
No staff AT ALL on site. You’re sent a code to get in. The room was horrid. Broken bed, rips in curtain. Leaking toilet, broken toilet seat and sink plug. Heavily stained carpet. I ARRIVED but if you needed to speak to someone, you had to ring a number. I was later getting there because of London traffic so I quickly changed to meet for a sound check. The state of the room didn’t become apparent until I got back at around midnight. By...
“The double room was clean & fresh but the 'standard' size double bed does not compare well with the more usual 'queen' size provided in hotels in this price range.
The staff were brilliant ambassadors for the hotel - Maisie & Jenny in particular - always attentive, always happy to engage with guests, always thinking ahead to anticipate the needs of their guests.
The hotel is set well back from the nearby road and there was absolutely no intrusive traffic, or any other, noise to disturb our...
“The Club Room is very large, but the bed is a small double, it was tiny. You feel every movement. Perhaps should be listed as a room for one.
The shower area is full of black mould, with the bathroom floor being full of long hairs.
The rooms have no AC, and are incredibly hot. We were provided a really dusty fan & windows that only opened around 1 inch so no breeze.
You can also hear every noise in the corridor, doors banging at 1am with people coming back from partying downstairs....
“Parking was ample but keycard didn’t work. When I finally got through to someone there was an emergency card, so managed to get it. Room was clean and air conditioned and bed was surprisingly good.”
“Very nice hotel and great staff, will stay again, odd bits in the room that need a touch up and refresh but the room itself was clean, busy hotel but very quiet and relaxed,
EV charging would be a nice addition”
“Stayed here for one night on my way down from Edinburgh to London. The hotel is pet friendly. There is £15 charge, not sure if it’s per night or once time charge. The view from the bar is nice.
HOWEVER, the lower level rooms (twin rooms) smells terrible. It smells damp. I had to ask to be moved to another room. Even the “upgrade” standard double room smelled damp. I left the windows open and sat outside for a bit then it was better. On google it says it’s a 4star hotel, I don’t think so.
