We stayed at the Opera Hotel so we could attend the late night Candlelight Concert at the Teatro Colón next door. We have stayed there before and the hotel is still amazing! The rooms are private, comfortable, clean, and have a charming colonial design. The breakfast in the morning is excellent with all the varied Colombian favorites plus fruit, breads, and an omelet cook. The spa is amazingly relaxing and the pools are quite warm. The only recommendation I make is to ask for robes and slippers to be sent to your room as soon as you checkin so you don’t have to wear street clothes down to the spa.

The staff was always helpful, polite and upbeat. The hotel itself I thought was beautifully unique with the high ceilings, to the cool balconies - drinking my coffee out there in the morning watching as the clouds lifted over the Andes. It's close to everything, and the restaurants nearby are all great. I enjoyed my stay very much - I'll be back :-)

Hotel was dated and although clean the room facilities, particularly the bathrooms, were old and now substandard. In the bathroom there were chipped or broken tiles and the the sink smelt damp from failed seals. The breakfast was also mediocre and not a high standard. Ruben on reception was helpful but another colleague less helpful and not very friendly. Although a good location for exploring La Candelaria, it feels as though the hotel is reliant on its past reputation. The hotel bar was always shut and if the restaurant opened then we were unaware and no information was provided by the staff.

It was in the most central location. Loved our room size plus the view was very nice. Although the room or property is not completely modern or updated, we loved its charm. Breakfast was good. The staff helped us with luggage, finding taxi or get a local guide.
