“Room was a bit dated, in need of a paint brush as much of the woodwork was peeling. Bathroom was adequate with a shower over the bath and quite a high step getting in and out. Toilet made an awful noise through the plumbing, and a previous occupiers bar of soap left on floor of electric radiator. Bed was comfortable and the room warm. Communal spaces littered with room service crockery from the time I arrived until the time I left. Reception staff pleasant, and the breakfast was the highlight...

“A relatively quiet hotel, just far enough from access to the main A1. The room was clean with a comfortable bed and basic tea coffee facilities. Good for an overnight stop”

“Mostly enjoyed our stay. Room clean and suitable for short stay. No toiletries on first night just soap. Only 2 cups for 3 adults had to go to bar for an extra cup. No extension lead available so glad we took our own although not really long enough. Disappointed to find door not secured properly after cleaners had been in.”

“Superb hotel full of character. Our room was beautifully appointed and very comfortable. We dined in the restaurant and were very impressed with the choice offered particularly for my husband who is coeliac and has to have gluten free. Every member of staff we engaged with were so polite and friendly. Our stay was an absolute delight.”

“Really great location and easy check in and out but the room was SO hot we couldn’t sleep, there was a fan but it didn’t do much. Our windows also opened into the balcony which didn’t feel very private ”

“We stayed for a couple of nights. The room was incredibly comfortable and quiet, certainly the best night's sleep we've had in local hotels in the area. The dinner menu is a bit limited, although the pizzas were good. They have just added cooked items to the breakfast but have a complicated charging system. Preferable just to add an extra amount to the b & b rate. The local countryside is lovely we had a couple of walks after dinner.”

“Very comfortable bed, clean room We stayed for 2 nights. At check-in, we did not notice the sign in reception that you need to ask for a room refresh (before noon) We needed clean cups, glasses, tbags, but we asked in the pub on the second day and all were provided. The only downside is there isn’t really anywhere in the bathroom to dry towel on a two night stay, so maybe best to ask for refresh Excellent value for money”

“Our room had no air conditioning and was above the kitchen, which made us both noisy and uncomfortably hot. The children really struggled to sleep, which meant no sleep for us either. Staff were nice and the room was clean but if only stay again in the winter months.”
