"The Crown Hotel in Harrogate is very tired. Worn carpets. Worn and scratched furniture. Creaking floors with every step (literally). Duct tape on the carpets in the Bronte room. Stains on carpets in my room. The furniture in the "executive" suite was worn and scratch ed - honestly in need of replacement. The staff are great! Friendly, welcoming and doing the best they can in a hotel that needs updating. Almost every stair carpet is worn away at the nose of the tread. The paint on the wall in our room was bubbled and peeling in places. This hotel needs a several million GBP renovation. "
