We enjoyed our one night stay whilst up at Hadrian's Wall. Gary, Carol and their staff were very friendly, the service was great, the room was very comfortable and the food was excellent in the charming restaurant.
Minor confusion on arrival about our booking was quicky resolved without issue (computer problem / booking platform) i.e. what room we had booked and what was included in our booking.
Room 5 was spacious, beautifully furnished and immaculately clean with French doors onto a small patio area.
Donโt be put off by comments about the approach amongst the nearby residential retirement lodges (peaceful and well maintained) or occasional motor homes parking in the car park.
It's quirky and quaint, in the castle's coach stables connected to what remains of a 19th-century turreted country mansion and ruin of a 14th-century tower house (castle).
The meals were exceptional and great value - good portion size and delicious. Breakfast was included and plenty of food on offer. It was also a treat to stay in a building of historical significance and the story of Blenkinsopp was interesting. Staff and owners were lovely, friendly and helpful. The only downside of our stay was weak water pressure in the shower (not sure if that can be helped?) and the bed was not the most comfortable. Other than that, we would stay again (but would ask for a different room in the hopes of a more comfy mattress).

Excellent place to stay
Rooms are clean, tidy, spacious and the beds are very comfortable.
Breakfast is very good and the staff are well organised. The food for the evening meal is nothing short of outstanding.
Highly recommend this place.
This Inn has been the highlight of our trip. The owners and staff are gracious and kind. Gary went out of his way to be helpful. The room was cute, clean, and comfortable. Dinner and breakfast were AMAZING! We loved this place.
A very nice and comfortable place to stay, welcoming and friendly staff, bar and restaurant excellent great selection choices on the evening meal and great breakfast.
Friendly welcome. Lovely family room. Great vegetarian cooked breakfast. Good location to explore the nearby Roman forts and Hadrian's Wall.

Superb idea with a 13c castle being the usp.
Some room cleaning needed attention with excessive mould evident in shower and some areas not cleaned sufficiently. Accomodation best descas adequate but the food was first class however experienced front of house staff in the bar was missing and requires urgent attention.
That said we would return
Amazing, unique place that offers a unique experience. The rooms are small but well appointed. They are dog friendly in the rooms as well as pub/restaurant. The ruins are available to be toured and the local residents add a lovely addition to the experience.
To note, the pub/restaurant/check in does not open at all until 3 pm so donโt arrive early.
Food and drink are excellent.
This was a great stay marred only by a very uncomfortable bed and green 'exit' light that shone in the room all night. Otherwise this is a lovely place to stop for a night. The pub and restaurant is lovely, great food and fabulous service. Thanks also for being so kind when our dog caused a fuss at dinner.

One night at Blenkinsopp
Blenkinsopp Castle Inn is situated in amongst a strange collection of retirement portacabins. It sounded and looked from the photos as if it was going to be amazing but turned out to be a major disappointment. There was mould in the bathroom and on the ceiling in the bedroom and the whole place just seemed incongruous as if we were in the midst of a film set! However the breakfast was good and the staff were friendly
This was a good location for what we wanted, we were visiting Vindolanda, Chesterโs & Housesteads, these were all very easy to get to by car. Breakfast was nice, we ate here in the evening and again it was all good. Small but nice eating area. Friendly staff.
Fantastic night, the staff were very friendly as were the local residents. The food was perfect, (evening meals, desserts and breakfasts). I would, (and definitely will) stay there again. The only negative bit for me was that I wasn't allowed to take Benson home with me lol. He's the German Shepherd dog in the pics lol.
We enjoyed our stay at Blenkinsopp Castle Inn. Room was bright clean and comfortable. Meals were very good and enjoyed exploring the Castle next door. Good location for visiting Hadrianโs wall.
Our family of 4 enjoyed seeing the castle on the property. It made it exciting for our two boys to explore the ruins. The staff was extremely nice and helpful. We would stay there again if in the area!
