Lindeth Howe Hotel

8/10 Good

"We love this hotel and its' location. Our main criticism didn't affect our stay, it's just that it is rather tired in places. Everywhere downstairs and the landing was perfect. Our bedroom furniture was very tired and the carpets had some permanent marks. The outside of the property is also very tired, a lot of paint is flaking and the gardens aren't as well maintained as they could be, lots of weeding needing to be done. It is a lovely quirky hotel and it's a shame these things let it down a little."

"The rooms, facilities and staff were exceptionally good. The food was outstanding. The hotel, itself, needs some upgrading to the exterior. Whilst the garden areas were beautiful, the cast iron white tables and chairs were dirty and needed a thorough clean. The water feature also. There were insufficient cushions on the exterior chairs. The whole outside of the building would benefit from white masonry painting to upgrade the property significantly. We would stay again"

"Although the hotel looked a bit tired, the things that really matter such as the quality of the breakfast ingredients and the helpfulness and demeanour of the staff were very impressive! We had a couple of minor issues (toilet seat loose and cistern not refilling as water was running straight into the bowl after flushing) that were addressed satisfactorily within minutes of reporting them. Parking was adequate with a few spaces at the front of the property and a few more behind - although the access to those behind the property was quite tight particularly if cars not parked correctly at the front of the property. Location was good with Bowness being about 10 - 15 minutes walk and Windermere 5 - 10 minutes."

"Friendly helpful staff in all areas of the resort. The apartment was super clean and everything in good condition. Appreciated the emergency supplies of milk, sugar, salt & pepper etc. Beds were very comfortable - sofa bed to sit on as a sofa was uncomfortable, but then it is a sofa bed.. Position of apartment on the lakeside was a real treat. Thoroughly enjoyed stay and will come back again."
