Palawan SandCastles Beach Resort
6/10 Okay
"PROS:
ULTRA secluded, most quiet location by the ocean that you might ever find, with a very chill vibe. Half mile long white fine sandy beach, which often you will have all to yourself due to the closure/ bankruptcy of the neighboring resort. The locals in this region are very friendly, and will actually acknowledge and smile to tourists. Hot water and A/C are available.
Good road around the island, but some steep hills. Our tricycle with luggage did not make one of them. The ladies/ hostesses are super charming and try very hard to meet all of your needs.
CONS:
No Red Horse beer.
Ultra secluded. If you don't have a vehicle, you are at the mercy of the host for food and food prices.
While the hostesses try their very best, they are understaffed, lack training and leadership.
Food was mediocre. They need a true chef on staff that is willing to multi-task.
Road signage is mediocre. The facilities are aged, in need of maintenance, past its best before date. Hot water and pressure for showering must be requested each time. This resort has enormous potential, but is passed due for new management, with the energy and drive to take this resort to its full potential. A percentage of profits, if any, needs to be reinvested each month on repairs and maintenance.
OVERALL: If you are looking for the ultimate in quiet and seclusion, with just basic facilities, this might be your place. Bring food/ snacks/ drinks. If you are looking for luxurious and fine cuisine, this might not be for yo"

Coron Westown Resort
10/10 Excellent
"Laundry was convenient. Staff very helpful. Pools were amazing. Book your tours with the front desk. Same price as everywhere else, so just very quick and easy. Tuk Tuks were right out front to take you to town, very reasonably priced."

Blue Waters Inn Coron

"Super friendly & helpful staff.
Room (and large window) was right next to lobby, so could hear people coming & going. "

White Summerville Tourist Inn

"Beautiful property with fresh clean rooms. The place is immaculate, and the staff is super accommodating. They arranged several island tours and daily excursions, the sunset one being spectacular.
The upstairs restaurant prepared delicious evening meal with a wide variety of Japanese and Asian food. The only drawback was the rooster farm next to the property. They can be annoying."

TAG RESORT

"Room was run down. Definitely in need of updating. Front desk Staff was attentive. Outside dining staff needs further training! Resort is a bit out of town. Not conveniently located. Water runs hot to cold in the shower. Water pressure not steady."

Discovery Coron

"Just returned from a 3 night stay at the resort. The main positives are the amazing location, spectacular beach and the polite and courteous staff. We stayed in the sunset villa - they look dated from outside but are clean and comfortable inside. The bed was huge and pillows were some of the bed I have ever had. The bathrooms are modern and stocked with all the amenities. The complimentary water bottles, daily snack, reef friendly sun screen and insect repellents are a great touch.
However, there are a couple of things that let the resort down for me. The food is average, though there are vegetarian options albeit limited. When we arrived, we were told that day trips organised by the resort could be booked up to 4pm the following day. We went early in the afternoon to book one of the island hopping trips for the following day and were told that no boats were available. Sadly we didn’t have the option to do it the following day as we were due to depart that day. So we basically ended up spending our 3 days just on the island and I think that is the main downside. If you want to do the Coron tour A, you need to get a boat to Busuanga island, get a van to Coron town and then do the tour A circuit. So if you want to see Coron, you are better off staying elsewhere. Oh and offering just 4 capsules of coffee is a bit miserly.

Pearl Bay Villas

"We loved our stay here. Peter, Bianca and all their staff are fabulous. They have arranged boat tours, room service, early breakfast delivery and packed lunch, and transportation from and to the airport for us. The food in their little restaurant was awesome as well. The place is away from the hustle and bustle of Coron town but still had easy access to all beautiful islands, snorkeling places and sandy beaches. I highly recommend this place!"
