"Did not look like much from the outside, but was well presented on the inside and parking was, let’s say interesting. Contact the hotel beforehand to ensure a space.
The desk staff could not have been kinder, including taking our many pieces of luggage up to the third floor (no elevator)
The room was large, comfortable, and well laid out for women travelers (a dressing table with mirror and plugs for a hairdryer- an issue at many of the places we have stayed in). The majority of guests were women, so obviously this is well known. The bathroom was excellent as was the shower, and everything was clean and in good repair.
The breakfast room was wonderful with a great cooked breakfast, however the cold buffet was our choice with fruit, yogurt, cereals (and an array of gluten free cereals) after two weeks of mostly full English breakfasts, a welcome change. Interesting coffee machine with multiple choices made as you wait - and delicious too!
My first impressions weren’t great, but this was definitely a case of don’t judge a book by its cover.
A great place to stay, and highly recommend for female travelers.
The location is good. No views but a short walk to the Barbican, restaurants and harbor life. In the other direction Plymouth Hoe and the seafront, all walkable."
