Before you launch into the clubbing scene of San Antonio, take a break and witness one of Ibiza’s spectacular sunsets on a this small beach on the west coast.

Calo des Moro is a stretch of beach located on the northern edge of San Antonio’s harbour. It offers a respite from the parties in town, though the soundtracks of the clubs can still be heard on the beach. Being only a small beach, Calo des Moro can get crowded, but far less so than San Antonio Beach. Because of its easy accessibility and fairly shallow waters, Calo des Moro is the perfect place for families to enjoy the sun and sand.

Rent a pedalo from a kiosk near the beach and set out over the turquoise water. Buy supplies for a picnic in town and throw out a blanket on the sand for lunch with your partner or family.

Come to this west-facing beach at the end of the afternoon to witness some spectacular sunsets. It has become a bit of a tradition here and there is always a sense of anticipation, as the setting sun is the signal for the real parties to start. Many young visitors end up dancing the night away until the sun comes up again.

Just a short walk away, San Antonio provides endless entertainment. Known as the “Clubbing Capital of the Universe”, it is home to some of the island’s best clubs and bars. Visit the West End district for its long bar strip and house music scene. Located along the harbour, Passeig de ses Fonts is the more low-key choice for diners.

Sunset Strip offers the best of both worlds. It is just a few steps away from Calo des Moro, but is also home to a wide variety of bars and cafés. Lounge and techno tunes wafts down onto the beach, providing background music throughout the day and into the evening.

Calo des Moro is just a 10-minute walk away from the centre of San Antonio, Ibiza’s second-largest town. It is located on the west coast of Ibiza and many ferries from mainland Spain, as far as Barcelona, arrive in the San Antonio port. From here, it’s about half an hour to Ibiza Town by car.
