I've stayed at every hotel in South Lake Tahoe. The Golden Nugget isn't my favorite. Check in takes forever because there are only two staff members manning the desk. The front desk lady seems wasn’t that happy for her position to work there. Literally no welcome or anything no little chit-chat while doing the check in or so she’s just look like AI or better yet the AI much better. Stardust Lodge
Super close to the Gondola, room super clean, staff amazing and super friendly. During peak times, it can be overly expensive for what one gets, but that's true for all of South Lake Tahoe.
