Beds are cheap box springs. If you walk anywhere you are constantly approached by vendors. More of a party destination.

Spent 5 days at this beach resort! The best thing is location pools & beach! Food could be better it was pretty terrible to us! I ordered room service took two hours for a ham sandwich ordered breakfast it never came after being confirmed! Very very hard to get bar restocked

Beautiful resort the location is amazing. The rooms are better than expected and very clean. The food was absolutely terrible and that is being conservative. The entertainment at the resort was mediocre however the beach access was exceptional. Outside of the food it’s a beautiful place

It's smaller than most properties, which is nice to get around. It's very clean, and beautiful! Rooms are nice, food is great! A couple things I'm not happy with, we have to go to a bar prior to dinner, and walk with drinks to restaurants, unless you are fine with beer/wine. Very inconvenient! Also, the main pool just off the lobby has no bar, while the busy, vibrant pool has two!! As good as the service is for people taking drink orders at that pool, there's always a long wait.

I put a negative review and received an E-mail back from the hotel. The reason is: when we checked in the girl who gave us our room number said, "I GAVE YOU A ROOM UPDATE". LIE! Response from Hotel was updates on rooms are given on availability. OK, I get that but, WHY SAY IT WHEN CHECKING IN IF IT'S NOT AVAILABLE! THEN WE HAD TO CALL DOWN FOR PROBLEMS WITH OUR ROOM: BOTH BATHROOM SINKS PLUGGED, PICTURE ON WALL HANGING ON BY ONE SIDE, LIGHT BY THE BED GOING OFF & ON, COFFEE POT NOT WORKING ETC! The reply I received was that the hotel offered us another room and we did not move. FIRST OF ALL: When you go on vacation and are told your room is ready then it SHOULD BE UP TO FIVE STAR READY AND NO CALLS TO FIX ANYTHING! Vacation means YOU DON'T DEAL WITH ANYTHING BUT RELAX.

The hotel and lobby are beautiful, the rooms are super outdated a slight smell of humidity, the AC system was not the best in the room. A bad smell by both bars by the pool, however the staff was amazing. The buffet food less than average, the food at the other restaurants there was delicious.

Riu las Americas was a beautiful place. The guest range from all ages. You must get the ocean view. Waking up to such an amazing view just kick starts your day… the staff was AMAZING!!

While the resort's entertainment was great, there were some aspects that could have been improved during my stay. The pools, for instance, could have been a lot cleaner; I noticed mold festering on most of the steps, along with sand and other debris at the bottom of the pools. Additionally, the Cun Bar had a broken plastic water container that allowed bugs to enter. The experience at the Black/White restaurant was disappointing; the service was not very attentive, and we didn't receive our salads or crab cakes. The steaks lacked seasoning and flavor. However, the Mexican and Don Roberto restaurants stood out positively. On the service front, drink service could have been better throughout the resort. Room 133 had its issues; it never cooled below 19.5 degrees Celsius, and the TV had a poor connection with only 7 channels available. The remote, especially the Netflix button, didn't work well. The bed was uncomfortable, and the showers were not properly cleaned or filled. The shower heads had rust and calcium build-up. The mini-bar was disorganized, with a small refrigerator and a malfunctioning liquor dispenser. The first-floor hallway was stained and not well-maintained. The piano bar had broken railings and some stained chairs with loose handles, which didn't give a favorable impression. Furthermore, the Riu Class perk didn't enhance our experience; it didn't make a significant difference. However, we did enjoy the Riu Stage Bar and the Coffee Bar.

The view was excellent! I love that the infinity pool gets a lot of shade in the late afternoon. The food is wonderful too! I have stayed here several time, and in talking to others, many guests have also stayed at the RIU Palace before. That says a lot!!

Se pidió apoyo para una situación especial y nos dijeron que no, era preparar un licuado con una proteína nada del otro mundo. La persona iba a una competencia y necesitaba ese apoyo que negaron. Se pidieron en su lugar 2 panes con nutela a las 6 am , nunca llegaron. Se pidió una bolsa con hielo tampoco llegó . Muy buen hotel pero deficiente su room service

RIU is a reliable brand that don't dissappoint. Great hotel, have an upscale look and feel. -Property was clean, everything worked, hot shower, clean bed, good amenities -As usual the staff goes out of their way to make sure you have a good time -Drinks were meh, the usual icy slush, you can only expect so much from a swim up bar. -Food was good, freshly made, good tasting. There are few "specialty" restaurant on property that you can try out as well, no reservation required which was nice. The biggest suprise for us was the "Riu Party" events. There are 4 days out of the week, they shuttle all Riu hotel guests to a cenral Riu location for an all out party. They are themed, some are day some are night parties. There are food, drinks, huge knee high pool, constant foam and laser lights, swim up bar, patio area with great views and loud music with entertainment. It had very much like a College Spring Break vibes but it was pretty fun. After the 3rd event, we were pretty much partied out, can only take so much party anthems from 90's thats on a loop. Overall Great Stay, great location, great time! We would highly recommend a visit.

I do not recommend this property. They need to be more clean and offer better service to customers. One night I was cold and I tried to grab a blanket from the closet when I opened the bag to grab the blanket it smell like pee. This means that they never cleaned it from the previous guests in the room. Floor was not clean most of the time. Sheets were not comfortable or soft. Overall, restaurants for dinner are OK. Buffet is OK. The swimming pools are mostly clean. The bar to get drinks inside the swimming pool smelled like dirt. Staff is respectful, but not happy to greet you. Overall, the property is old and not modern.

Overall our stay was good in terms of staff and service (Abu at the inside bar was our favorite!), everyone was so nice, helpful and service at the restaurants and bars was so quick all the time. But we overestimated the maturity of the adults-only resort crowd. All we wanted was peace and quiet, but unfortunately I think children would have been easier and more mature to deal with. It was so loud at night until 5am, people screaming and partying like wild animals, slamming doors all over the place. We barely slept. I would not stay here again because of all the noise. The breakfast buffet was excellent. I loved the omelet bar, all of the options (you think of it, they had it!), high quality fruit and delicious sweets. Nothing made up for the ridiculous noise at night though. Adults need to act better and have way more consideration for others in public places.
