"We have stayed here a few times in the past but not for about three years now. Sadly, we were very disappointed . The service used to be exceptional. I asked for a quiet room as we are very light sleepers - we were kept aware by the kitchen fan at the back of our room and the noise from the reception desk. We had lunch there and the prawn skewers were bland and tasteless. The breakfast buffet selection was poor, however the hot meals were very good. The service was dire, staff were stood around chatting and we had to go and ask for our order to be taken. We were not asked if we would like toast and again had to ask for it. When the waitress brought some she did not think to take our dirty plates away. Also, I notified the manager on arrival that the hand cream in the ladies toilet had run out and it was still empty on departure. Unsure if we would return and we have spent many happy breaks there in the past."

"Fantastic stopover on trip down south . Recently refurbished with great food and exceptional staff. Room was a tad small however this was balanced with cleanliness and really nice toiletries. The food was freshly cooked quickly served and a great range of options. Breakfast - amazing and included in price -"

"Cheap and cheerful, in need of a lot of tlc. Room 5 was fine although the bathroom floor was very uneven. Breakfast was good, other meals were okay, you get what you pay for! Had to wash everything when we got home due to the smell of fried food. "

Rooms are in a very central location perfect for short stroll to all the village amenities and surrounding walks. Very quiet and restful with no outside noise. breakfast short distance in the nearby hotel was very good. "

"Very dirty room, the floor was covered in dust and debris, there was toothpaste splashed on the bathroom walls and hairs in the sink. The pub was lovely but the room cleanliness needs serious improvement. "
