Affordable and clean!

Very clean and staff is very friendly. A very good affordable option for a night. Though the furniture was outdated and worn the place was very clean and had been well maintained.

Better than it looks from the outside

Stayed at the Hotel Grand for the Chadron Marathon put on by Mainly Marathons. Motel is older, and the exterior appearance wasn't encouraging, but the room was clean, comfortable and everything worked.

Old fashioned room with few amenities.

Deadbolt doesn’t work and the knob with twist lock is loose. Floor vent has no temp control. Manager has to turn on and off. Staff very friendly and room had lots of space.

Nice older motel. I liked it. Clean, quiet, would stay at again. Nothing fancy but covers the basics. Came in after dark and the parking lot, also, was dark. Could use a light or two in the parking lot and replace one or two in the sign.

We couldn't check hotels too well on the road in northern Nebraska (lack of internet) so we were pretty much dedicated to staying in Chadron when we rolled into town. Something must have been going on in town since everyone else on Hotels.com was sold out or over $200. College was out, and tourists had not started yet, so don't know what. So out of cheapness we picked this place. We knew it wasn't going to be great but this is my take on it. First it should have been around a $60 at most hotel. They probably also indulged in the hotel markups although only a handful of cars in the parkinglot. The room was clean and bathroom well maintained, but the carpet and chair and couch were questionable. Very stained/used. The hotel 'disinfect' smell was definitely not in this room. So when the ventilation kicked on (you don't have your own climate control which is my main gripe, it was centralized) you get all the smells from the adjacent rooms. Ventilation system had BO or maybe somone was smoking some pot. I don't mind mom&pop hotels, I often stay at them, but one thing I avoid is if they say they rent by the week. This place has a sign saying it does.

Not to bad

The room was ok, pretty clean and bed was kinda old. Took a shower in the morning and the towels smell. They need to replace towels and wash cloth. For the price it was ok.

Does not live up to most of its reviews on here!

Preface: I am not a complainer, but I do expect somewhat clean and usable rooms when I travel. Made the trip to Chadron to see my college student, I read reviews about this place saying it looked rough on the outside, but clean, comfortable, no frills rooms, so I gave it a chance on a weekend where my normal hotel was full. The first night, I crawled into bed and the bed sunk in the middle, so bad I could not sleep in it. It was late and the office closes at 11, so I had to suffer through. The smell did not scream CLEAN to me,but I did not see anything visible. I asked for a new room or a refund in the morning, and was offered a different room. Checked it out, beds were at least usable. When we returned that night, the AC had kicked on during the day and it smelled awful. I can't afford to lose/burn $300 for another hotel room, so I got disinfectant spray, opened windows and made it through the night. Left a day early because we couldn't take another day and I couldn't afford the $200 rooms that were available in town without getting a refund on this one. I have no idea how this hotel has even a 5/10 rating. Next time I will spend the extra money, don't stay here.
