This property needs to invest in new mattresses. Our king size bed had indents and was toooo soft.
Disappointed, considering everything else is amazing. A good night sleep out ways it all for us. Maybe ask if they have a โgoodโ mattress in the room before booking.
Wonderful collection of old historic homes. Loved the room. Loved even more the special happy hour (an hour before their usual happy hour, which included free oysters!)
Great area in the heart of downtown Charlottetown.

We stayed at this hotel last year and had a pleasant experience. This year felt different, the staff were absolutely amazing! Helpful and kind in every way. They even took note of a birthday celebration and had a bottle of wine in the room which goes to show how far they go for guests.
The room we had was the same as before but attention to detail is not within the rooms. The carpet is really showing its age and I hope is clean but did not look it. It was ripped up in quite a few spots and extremely brown, our bedding had a few stains in many spots but did look washed so I let it go. The shower had rust spots in the corner, the pink colour that needs a little scrub. The TV unit thing was just sort of falling down behind the TV, many stains on furniture, pictures and mirrors uneven. Itโs a nice hotel but when you pay $465 for a night I expected a bit more in terms of cleanliness. The parking is absolutely the largest downfall as well of course staying in the downtown core, thankfully we saw the hotel employee leaving for the night and he advised he can take the valet spot but this happened to us both times we have stayed. The breakfast is not bad it is cute and small. The best part is really the hot coffee & tea and sweets. Itโs the small details when staying in a room that truly matter and it fell a bit short this time.
Upon arrival, we realized that the elevator would not service the assigned room, when we expressed our concern, the staff quickly consulted with the manager and arranged a more suitable room. The hotel was completely booked so the staff went over and above to help solve our problem and we were very grateful.
We enjoy the location. We Have stayed many times but oddly that is never acknowledged. The front desk staff varies greatly in personality and helpfulness. There was one young man, Sam, who didnโt check us in, but we saw with many clients and he was so friendly and helpful. The breakfast staff is always wonderful as are cleaning staff. We had a nice king room in the main building. There was no vanity kit in bathroom and the keurig didnโt work. Didnโt complain but did tell woman at checkout about the coffee maker as it should be replaced. Loved the pillows. Bed was ok but sagged in the middle. AC is good though slightly loud. Fridge is great to have.
There was no concierge on a busy July weekend. we heard many Guests ask the front desk about the island and that to do. No one could help them โฆ they need to staff islanders or people who know how to help tourists! I did give some people restaurant recommendations and scenic drives. I felt bad for the folks who got in their cars and drove with no idea what PEI has to offer. Not acceptable.
We forgot to take DND sign off door second day so didnโt get cleaning. Was ok with us. But when I checked out, asked about the gift cert or $10 credit and woman said โyou got a gift certificateโ. Wow. No. We didnโt. We also ate at Murphy restaurants 3 times and would have used it. She had to โcheck with her colleagueโ. So insulting.Itโs $10 and we spent over $1100 to stay there for 3 nights. It was not about the $.
The European and vintage style of this hotel just completed the escape we had from downtown Toronto. Shoutout to all the desk people, very nice and caring. Totally walkable to everywhere in Charlottetown downtown- shops, restaurants, parks, Basilica!
We were advised to stay here from friends. Staff here will go above and beyond - the hotel is beautiful. No issues with the rooms they were exceptionally comfortable - highly recommend coming in Charlottetown to stay here.
The hotel is very cute. Location is great!! Staff are also nice and the breakfast was good. Itโs the room we got was very old!!! The bed was nice but I was sooo surprised how old the room was. Carpet was dirty, furniture so old, bathroom needs a face lift and there was a terrible old smell when you walked into the first floor of the room. Perhaps we just got the worst room, and I should have asked to change it to be honest. The hotel seems great but that room is just awful. Needs a major redo. Even though the hotel has an ancient charm I still think they can update that room and it will still feel the same but at least clean and not old and dirty.
Absolutely stunning architecture. Beautiful rooms and modern conveniences. Everything was so comfortable and they gave us a lovely little anniversary gift
