Depending on where you're coming from, your journey to Alma could be completely painless or it could drag on forever. We've rounded up some handy tips that will help you start your next great adventure on a positive note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- A plane ride can be easy if you bring the right things. Firstly, you'll need basic toiletries, such as deodorant, toothpaste and a toothbrush, a spare pair of socks and a good read. Next, find room in your hand luggage for your phone, tablet and chargers, any medications and perhaps a comfy neck pillow as well. Last, but definitely not least, be sure to bring your passport, travel papers and your credit cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Leave all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hairspray in your checked baggage. Any liquids in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) won't be allowed on. Pointed or sharp objects, like your beloved Swiss Army knife, and dangerous goods which are explosive or flammable, such as spray paint, flares and matches, are also prohibited.
What to wear on a flight:
- Your aim is to feel as comfortable as you can. Opt for slip-on footwear, dress in loose, natural fibers and remember to take a pullover in case it gets cold in the cabin.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is a potential risk on long-haul flights. It results from blood clotting due to poor circulation, so do some gentle leg and foot exercises in your seat and consider wearing compression socks or tights.
