Wherever you're coming from, flying can be a seamless experience if you're well prepared. We've put together a list of handy hints that will get your Bow vacation started on the right note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- A plane ride can be a great experience if you carry the right things. Firstly, you'll want a few basic toiletries, such as deodorant, toothpaste and a toothbrush, a clean pair of socks and a magazine or two. Secondly, find room in your hand luggage for your laptop, a charger, any medications and maybe a cozy neck pillow as well. Last, but definitely not least, don't forget to take your passport, travel docs and some cash.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Leave all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and conditioner in your checked baggage. Any liquids or gels in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) will be confiscated. Sharp or pointed objects, like your trusty Swiss Army knife, and products which are flammable or explosive, such as aerosol cans, spray paint and poisons, are also restricted.
What to wear on a flight:
- The aisles of an aircraft aren't the place for a fashion parade. Don comfortable layers and choose shoes that are roomy, flat and easy to remove.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clotting condition caused by extended periods of inactivity, can be a risk on long-haul flights. Try to walk around the cabin and stretch your legs or do some gentle exercises in your seat to improve your circulation.
