We've got the lowdown on how to make your flight an enjoyable experience. Follow our tips and you'll be cruising through the airport and discovering Burgersdorp before you know it. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Traveling on a plane can be a cruisy experience if you take the right things. Firstly, you'll want a few toiletry items, such as a toothbrush and lip balm, a clean pair of socks and something to read. Secondly, find room in your carry-on bag for your mobile phone, a charger, your important medications and perhaps a proper neck pillow as well. Lastly, and most importantly, be sure to bring your passport, travel papers and your bank cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Pack all your full-sized bottles of hair gel and hairspray in your checked luggage. Any liquids in your carry-on bag larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) will be confiscated by security. Sharp or pointed objects, like your treasured Swiss Army knife, and dangerous products which are flammable or explosive, such as aerosols and fireworks, are also prohibited.
What to wear on a flight:
- The aisles of a plane aren't the place for a fashion parade. Layer your clothing and go for shoes that are closed-toe, flat and easy to remove.
- Most of us have heard about deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clotting condition caused by prolonged periods of sitting. To lower your risk on board, drink plenty of water, consider wearing compression socks or tights and move your lower limbs often.
