Wherever you're coming from, flying can be a pleasant experience if you've planned ahead. We've put together a list of essential travel tips that will get your Cabo Verde vacation started on the right note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- It's simple — first, pack your passport, official ID, credit cards and medications. Next, you'll need some entertainment to while away the time. A thrilling novel and a laptop filled with your favorite movies are some terrific options. If you intend to take a quick snooze, a neck pillow and a pair of earplugs will also be useful. Finally, leave space for a toothbrush and some cleansing wipes so you'll arrive at your destination looking and feeling fresh.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- While the list of banned items can differ between airlines, the general guide to follow is nothing flammable, sharp or explosive. This includes box cutters, razor blades, aerosol cans and flares. Sporting equipment like hockey sticks, and objects that could harm other people, such as pepper spray and firearms, are also banned from the cabin.
What to wear on a flight:
- Your main priority is to be as comfortable as possible. Go for a pair of flat, closed-toe shoes, dress in loose, breathable clothing and remember to bring a pullover in case you get cold in the cabin.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clot condition caused by lengthy periods of inactivity, can be a risk on long-haul flights. Wander around the cabin and stretch your legs or do some gentle exercises in your seat to promote better circulation.
