If you're poorly prepared, traveling can be tough. But there's no need to hit the panic button just yet. Follow these useful tips and enjoy a pleasant start to your time in Gzhel'.What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Flying can be a cruisy experience if you bring the right gear. First things first, you'll need basic toiletry items, such as lip balm and hand cream, a clean pair of socks and a good novel. Secondly, leave space in your carry-on bag for your electronic devices, chargers, any medications and maybe a neck pillow too. Lastly, and most importantly, don't forget to bring your passport, travel documents and some money.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Double-check that you don't have a Swiss Army knife lurking in the bottom of your carry-on luggage. Other prohibited items include explosive or flammable goods, such as aerosol cans and bleach, and gels and liquids in containers with a capacity of more than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters).
What to wear on a flight:
- Your number one priority is to be as comfortable as possible. Don layers of natural-fiber clothing and don't forget to pack a cardigan in case it gets cold in the cabin. Always opt for flat, slightly roomy shoes as your feet may swell a little during the journey. Leave the high heels and heavy boots in your luggage.
- Most of us have heard about deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clot condition caused by prolonged periods of sitting. There are plenty of ways to minimize your risk. Wear a pair of compression tights or socks, drink plenty of water and get your legs and feet moving. Do a lap or two of the cabin or try out some simple stretches in your seat.
