Wherever you're jetting in from, flying can be a pleasant experience if you're well organized. We've put together a list of top travel tips that will get your Lyndon vacation started on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- First and foremost, put in your passport, important documents, bank cards and medications. Next, you'll need some in-flight entertainment to while away the time. A thrilling book and a laptop crammed with your favorite shows are some wonderful options. If you plan to catch a few z's, a quality neck pillow and some noise-canceling headphones will also be useful. Finally, leave some space for a toothbrush and some facial wipes to ensure you touchdown looking fresh and raring to go.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Pack all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hair gel in your checked baggage. Any gels or liquids in your carry-on bag larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) will be confiscated. Sharp objects, like your beloved Swiss Army knife, and dangerous goods which are flammable or explosive, such as flares, chemicals agents and fuels, are also prohibited.
What to wear on a flight:
- The long, narrow aisles of your plane are not the best place for a fashion parade. Layer yourself up with comfortable clothes and bring a sweater as the temperature can drop inside the cabin during long-haul flights. Enclosed, flat shoes are also recommended.
- Most travelers have heard about deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clotting condition caused by reduced mobility or inactivity. There's lots you can do to lessen your risk. Wear compression socks or tights, stay well hydrated and get your legs and feet moving. Do a few laps of the cabin or try out some simple stretches in your seat.
