Wherever you're coming from, flying can be an enjoyable experience if you prepare well enough. We've made a list of handy tips and tricks that will help get your Mackinaw City vacation started on the right note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- A plane trip can be a pleasure if you take the right gear. Firstly, you'll need toiletry items, such as deodorant, toothpaste and a toothbrush, a clean set of clothes and a good novel. Next, leave space in your hand luggage for your phone, tablet and chargers, medications and maybe a quality neck pillow as well. Lastly, and most importantly, remember to take your passport, travel papers and your bank cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Double-check that you don't have a Swiss Army knife hiding in one of the zippers of your carry-on luggage. Other restricted items include flammable or explosive products, such as fuel and fireworks, and gels and liquids in containers with a volume of more than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters).
What to wear on a flight:
- Your goal here is to feel as comfortable as you can. Go for easy-to-remove footwear, dress in loose, breathable clothing and remember to take a pullover in case it gets cold in the cabin.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clot condition caused by lengthy periods of inactivity, can be a risk on long-haul flights. Try to walk around the cabin or do some simple exercises in your seat to improve your circulation.
