No matter where you're coming from, flying can be an enjoyable experience if you've prepared well. We've made a list of handy hints that will get your Mango vacation started on the right note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- The secret to having a hassle-free travel experience is to pack in advance. First up, the essentials: passport, boarding pass, credit cards and vital medications. Next, bring items that'll help keep you entertained, like your laptop or a thrilling book. It's also a wise idea to pack your chargers, a comfy neck pillow and a pair of headphones. And of course, be sure to squeeze in toiletry items like a toothbrush, cleansing wipes and a clean T-shirt.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Double-check that you don't have a Swiss Army knife hiding in the bottom of your hand luggage. Other restricted items include explosive or flammable goods, such as fuel and fireworks, and gels and liquids in containers larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters).
What to wear on a flight:
- The long, narrow aisles of an aircraft are no fashion runway. Layer yourself up with comfortable clothes and bring a cardigan as it tends to get cool inside the cabin during long-haul flights. Closed-toed, flat shoes are also a good choice.
- Unfortunately, one risk of long-haul flights is developing deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clotting condition caused by extended periods of inactivity. To prevent this, make the most of every opportunity to walk around the cabin and stretch your legs. Compression tights and socks are another simple way to help reduce this risk.
