Depending on where you're coming from, your flight to Oulu could be as easy as pie or it could drag on forever. We've rounded up some tips that will help you start your next great escape on a positive note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- It's easy — first, pack your passport, important documents, cash and daily medications. Next, you'll need some entertainment to while away the time. A thrilling book and a tablet filled with your favorite movies are some terrific options. If you intend to catch a few z's, a comfy neck pillow and a pair of earplugs will also be useful. Finally, make room for a toothbrush and some cleansing wipes so you'll arrive at your destination looking fresh and ready to go.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Leave all your full-sized bottles of hair gel and hairspray in your checked luggage. Any gels or liquids in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) will be confiscated by security. Sharp or pointed objects, like your Swiss Army knife, and products which are explosive or flammable, such as aerosols and fireworks, are also banned.
What to wear on a flight:
- Your main aim is to feel as comfortable as possible. Go for slip-on footwear, dress in loose, breathable clothing and don't forget to bring a jacket in case you get chilly in the cabin.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is a risk on long-haul flights. It's the result of blood clotting due to poor circulation, so do some gentle leg and foot exercises in your seat and consider wearing compression socks or tights.
