Depending on where you're coming from, your journey to Rech could be as easy as pie or it could go on forever. We've pulled together some useful hints that will help you start your next great adventure on a positive note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Traveling on a plane can be easy if you carry the right things. Firstly, you'll want some toiletry items, such as lip balm and hand cream, a fresh set of clothes and a good book. Next, find room in your hand luggage for your phone, tablet and chargers, any daily medications and maybe a quality neck pillow too. Lastly, remember to take your passport, travel documents and some cash.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- While the list of banned items differs between airlines, the general guide to follow is nothing sharp, flammable or explosive. This includes screwdrivers, blades, fireworks and fuel. Sporting equipment like baseball bats, and items that could injure passengers, such as guns and swords, are also banned from the cabin.
What to wear on a flight:
- Your number one priority is to be as comfortable as possible. Layer up in natural fibers and bring a pullover in case it gets cold in the cabin. Pick a pair of roomy, flat shoes as it's possible that your feet and ankles will swell during the journey. Leave the high heels and heavy boots in your checked baggage.
- Unfortunately, one risk of long-distance flying is developing DVT (deep vein thrombosis), a blood clotting condition caused by lengthy periods of inactivity. To prevent this from happening, take every opportunity to stretch your legs and walk around the cabin. Compression socks and tights are another easy way to help lower your risk.
